How locals do it
Order the combo every Shanghainese uncle gets: 麻酱拌面 (sesame-paste noodles) plus 炸猪排 (fried pork chop) and a small beef soup. The sesame paste is a peanut-sesame blend, faintly sweet — that's correct, not a mistake. Tom Holland and Zendaya ate here twice in July 2026; the shop now sells a bilingual "star combo" of exactly those three items.
Don't get this wrong
11 tables, no bookings — at noon you queue behind locals and Spider-Man pilgrims alike. Go before 11:30am or after 1:30pm. The shop pivoted from cafe to noodles nearly a century ago; don't expect decor, English, or pace.
